Nnamdi Chinecherem produced a dominant display in the Boys U18 Javelin Throw to win Gold with a mark of 74.71m. His first throw of 71.92m was the sign of things to come and he didn’t disappoint.
Princess Kara was also a force to be reckoned with in the women’s U20 Discus Throw final as she won Gold in the event with a new Personal Best (PB) of 50.04m as she reduced her former PB by a massive 5.26m which was set two years ago.
Team Nigeria debutant Ruona Adogbeji won Bronze in the final of the Girls’ U18 Long Jump with a mark of 5.56m.
Victoria Adunbi won a Bronze medal in the final of the women’s U20 100m Hurdles event while Law Erewa, who was participating in the Decathlon for the first time, won Bronze in the men’s U20 final of the event.
The 200m semis saw Favour Ofili clock the fastest time of the heats in the women’s U18 category with a time of 23.77s while Anita Taviore was second in her heat. In the men’s U20 category, Enoch Adegoke placed second in his heat with a time of 21.18s.
The 200m final of both categories for males and females, come up tomorrow.
